Training management
Employee training management without the spreadsheets
Know who needs what training, who has finished, and what is coming due. OurTrainingRoom keeps it organized by person, group and supervisor.
The problem with tracking training by hand
Most organizations start with a spreadsheet, a binder or a folder of sign-in sheets. It works until it doesn't: someone leaves and takes the knowledge with them, a certificate expires without anyone noticing, or a manager asks for a list of who has completed a course and it takes a day to assemble.
OurTrainingRoom replaces that with a single system where training is assigned, completed and recorded in the same place, so the records keep themselves up to date.
Organize staff the way your organization works
- Groups for departments, branches, sites, crews, full-time staff, contractors or new hires. One person can belong to several groups.
- Supervisors are recorded on each employee's profile, so supervisors can follow their own people and reports can be run by supervisor.
- Employee profiles hold name, email, username, employee ID, supervisor, account status and date of hire.
- Active and inactive accounts, so the records of people who have left are kept without cluttering the current list.
Assign the right training
Courses are placed on each person's agenda. Staff see their assigned courses as soon as they sign in, and the dashboard tells them what to do next. For larger programs, pathways bundle several courses into one plan, such as an orientation program, and show progress through the whole set.
Optional learning can go in the registrar, a catalogue of elective courses employees can sign up for on their own.
Keep training current
Some training has to be redone, often every year. When a certificate is due for renewal, the course comes back onto the learner's agenda, marked as due. If your organization turns reminders on, employees are emailed before their training expires. Administrators can run reports on certificates expiring within 30, 60 or 90 days.
Communicate with staff
Bulletins put a policy, notice or document in front of employees the next time they sign in. They have to tick a box confirming they have read and understood it, and the box only becomes available once they have scrolled through the document. Built-in messaging lets staff and administrators keep training conversations in one place.
Find anyone in seconds
The user manager searches by first or last name, email, employee ID, group, supervisor, status, last sign-in date or account creation date, and exports the results to Excel.
